The Viscount
The Viscount is our latest, and highest capacity, addition to the Long Term Narrowboat Hire fleet, offering cruising for a family of up to 6pp, or for two couples, or simply a lovely spacious boat for long term cruising for two in style.
The Viscount is a 10 year old 60ft Colecraft with only one previous private owner. She had hardly been used and remained largely moored in a marina: her modern Beta engine had hardly been run in! Bought by the previous owner as a ‘project’ she was never really finished and so we had a lovely ‘blank canvas’ of an interior to work with, from which we beleive we’ve created a contemporary, flexible, spacious interior. The Viscount layout is very similar to The Squire. A large cruiser stern and a reverse layout features galley and living area at rear with the main bedroom and 2nd bedroom/ sitting room at the bow – with a bathroom between the bedrooms. The front cabin is highly adapatable and can be configured as twin or double bedroom, simply left as a front sitting roomwith armchairs, or even a good office space with a desk/chair. The dining/living area forward of the galley has an L shaped dinette facing and solid fuel stove - and which can, if required, be converted into a single or double bed.

As you step down from the spacious rear cruiser stern deck (which has surround-seating), you’ll enter the spacious aft living area. This comprises a fully equipped galley (with a washing machine, cooker, and optional 240V microwave & toaster) and dinette featuring the solid fuel stove in addition to full central heating. The L-shaped dinette provides seating for up to 6pp, and can readily convert to a double bed if required. There’s a corner cupboard with TV point if required, as well as a storeable dining table suitable for 6pp, including folding chairs if required.
The Master Bedroom features a 6ft6” double bed that can pull out at night for extra width and with a fully open storage space under as well as a wardrobe, head shelf and USB point.
The Bathroom has a large walk-in shower, vanity unit and cassette toilet.
The bow cabin is very flexible: a spacious Lounge with TV point if required as well as storage cupboards, it features our lovely comfortable reclining leatherette armchairs and footstools. There is sufficient space for either twin single, or a double, folding Z beds to be provided for visitors, especially if you prefer for the bathroom to be between you and your guests, rather than using the dinette. Alternatively we can make a permanent double or twin in this cabin by removing the armchairs and adding permenant mattresses to the Z bed(s). You can even ask us to remove all furniture and bring your own, just so long as it fits through the front doors!
Smart 22” TVs are available which can be located in either or both of the living areas, and there are USB points throughout the boat.
The front doors open directly to the spacious front cockpit, allowing for deckchairs to be placed outside to enjoy the views.

Hires start in 15th of each month with return on 12th of each month (to allow for time for any repairs before the next hire starts).
